James Hickey
Managing Director
James Hickey serves as the Managing Director of Crimson Wealth. In this role, he oversees client investment strategy, portfolio construction, insurance, and tax strategies. In addition, Mr. Hickey serves as Managing Director of Alternative Risk Strategies LLC and X1-Capital Inc.
Prior to this, Mr. Hickey served as a Managing Director at the boutique wealth management firm Spearhead Capital. In addition, Mr. Hickey served at Chief Investment Strategist at Avantax, a wealth management platform with roughly $80B in assets. Additionally, Mr. Hickey has served as Chief Investment Officer for an $500M family office and as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for a $2B hedge fund.
Mr. Hickey has B.A. with high honors from Harvard University and his M.B.A. with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School. Mr. Hickey also hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Shay Girard
Client Relationship Management
Ms. Girard oversees client relationship management. Prior to this, served as Regional Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. She has also served Director of Development for the House of Shine and Head of HR for the game development company Zynga. Ms. Girard has her BS from Texas Tech University.
